Farewell to Old Friends

Ian Furlong, full time Elder at Satisford Evangelical Church in Warwick, has been a Council member of Partnership since 2011 and a Director/Trustee for the past six Years. For a number of years he was a driving force in the organisation of the Future and Hope Network, a joint Patnership and Counties venture in the West Midlands, providing a forum for gathering and high quality training in the region. Ian’s ability to absorb and synthesise ideas and information and then provide gentle challenge and concise summation was much valued by both Council and Board, and this, coupled with his grace and empathetic approach, will be greatly missed as he leaves both Board and Council to place more focus on his pastoral and teaching ministry in his local, growing, fellowship.
Dr Bob Tripney has been associated with Partnership for decades – conributing to publications, such as the Church Leaders Handbook; taking on the role of National Co-ordinator – for more than 10 years he developed relationships with local church leaders up and down the country; supporting his late wife Molly in organising National Conferences; as Director/Trustee of the Board – a role from which he retired in 2014; organiser of the Future and Hope Network; supporter, promoter and encourager of young men and women in the Lord’s work. It’s still a wonder to us how he found time to cycle, to play a full and active role in local church leadership, to be the GP of choice to generations in his locality and to be a much loved father, grandfather and, now, great grandfather. Bob has decided that the time has come to bid farewell to the Partnership Council, passing the baton to a number of the individuals he promoted, encouraged and, frankly, pressed into service. Deep into his eighties he continues to lead worship in his home chuch and (DV) plans to marry again in the near future. We wish Bob every blessing for the future as he continues to serve the Lord in new and exciting ways in the days that lie ahead.
