Beechwood Chapel is a small but growing church family on a social housing estate on the edge of Birkenhead on the Wirral. Our vision is to be a grace-filled community sharing good news on our estate, and in the wider area with the aim to be a growing, church-planting church, especially reaching the urban poor. We are affiliated with Partnership UK, The North West Partnership and our Pastor is a member of the FIEC Pastor’s Network.
We are looking to recruit an Associate Pastor or Co-Pastor alongside our existing Pastor, and with the support and supervision of our Elders. They would take a lead in developing a culture of evangelism across the whole church, and help to nurture and disciple church members.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a heart to reach the urban poor.
- Be willing to move onto and become involved in the community on the estate.
- Model a commitment to personal evangelism and prayer.
- Train and equip church members in personal evangelism.
- Take on some of the Preaching responsibility within the church.
- Identify key individuals to train, disciple and invest in to equip for works of service.

We are seeking an experienced and outgoing church leader with a proven ability in managing and building teams to be a key part of the West Road Church leadership which currently consists of two congregations. The church is overseen by a team of elders and assisted by a team of deacons. In addition a full-time community pastor is responsible for a recently established second congregation, and three part time staff, youth worker, children’s worker and administrative manager. There is a desire to develop a leadership team of staff and other “church member” teams who will run the church on a daily basis to complement the oversight of the church by the eldership. West Road Church is committed to plural leadership both at the eldership/trustee level and within the leadership team.
