The Brethren Archivists and Historians Network organises a biennial International Brethren History Conference. This is open to all who are interested in the history of the movement.
The next conference is to be held on 5 – 7 July 2007 at Liverpool
Hope University and is being organised in conjunction with the Christian
Brethren Archive. The subject is to be ‘Brethren, Culture and Society’ (Brochure and call
for papers). The timing is close to that of the International
Brethren Conference on Mission, to be held in Germany on 25 June – 1
July 2007), partly so as to facilitate attendance from outside Europe at
both conferences if desired. As part of the proceedings at the International
Brethren History Conference, on Friday evening 6 July, Dr Ward Gasque will
be giving an F F Bruce memorial lecture on the subject of ‘F F Bruce:
an unhyphenated evangelical’.
Previous conferences were held
•
at Wiedenest Bible School, Germany, from 3 - 5 July 2005 on ‘Witnessing
in Many Lands: the Theology and Practice of the Brethren Movement’.
The papers from the conference are being prepared for publication.
•
At Redcliffe College Gloucester in July 2003 on "The growth of the
Brethren movement: national and international experiences". The papers
from the conference have been published in Neil Dickson and Tim Grass (ed’s),
The Growth of the Brethren Movement: National and International Experiences
(Carlisle: Paternoster 2006)
